Since the late 90’s, significant advances have been made in the management of auto-immune diseases. Synthetic disease modifying drugs were used for several decades. Over the past 20 years various biologic therapies have been available to optimize management of their diseases with resultant improved outcomes, particularly for patients with severe disease not responding to traditional medication.
